We made a new friend last month at Texas Fightmare...Troy Holbrook the creator of BODYBAG Trading Cards!  He gave us 10 sets of first edition cards (15 in a pack) to give away for a kick-ass Calabrese contest.  These are some of the most disturbing, beautiful and haunting cards you'll ever see!  Troy even told us that people have called the police during one of his photo sessions because they thought he actually killed someone!

Contest Rules: Send us your BEST Calabrese Crime Scene Art (photos, drawings, paintings, stories, youtube videos...anything!) to Crime@CalabreseRock.com, and the top 10 will win a deck of cards and a full collection of Calabrese stickers.  Use your imagination, use black magic...do whatever you gotta do!  Check back next month, we'll post the winning art on the website!

Also, Germany was amazing.  We'd made many new friends and only broke a few laws!  If you took any pictures at the show, please send them our way, we'd love to post them!

Calabrese Double Feature!

With studio time for the new album fast approaching, we thought now would be a good time to get the uninitiated caught up with our backlog.  For a limited time, we're offering the Calabrese Double Feature!  "13 Halloweens" and "The Traveling Vampire Show" for only $15.99! (Limit 3 per order!)

03/01/09
We tried to wait 'til the next CD (honestly, we did!) but we just can't help ourselves.  We now have a NEW t-shirt - The Vampires Severed Head!  OK, so it's not really "new."  In fact, it's the same design on the zip-up hoodie, but we figured that since you all destroyed the Earth with your global warming, it's too hot to wear anything other than a t-shirt!

Blog Update: Eric Powell Interview Part 2.
The Goon -10 Years Of Punching Zombies

Jimmy - You state your turning point was the 2001 Wizard World convention in Chicago?

Eric – Yeah [Laughs] it was pretty pathetic. I bought a table for about one hundred bucks, I had been drawing some Buffy comics for Dark Horse but that stuff dried up. I was doing some inking work for Marvel and all that work dried up. So I didn’t have any work coming in. I had this Artist Alley table at the convention and I only did one sketch for twenty bucks so it didn’t even pay for the table. I drove out there by myself and I drove back all pissed off. It was a point where I thought “is this going to work or should I quite?” It was a six or seven hour drive and I had the whole time to think about it. It was pretty sad but I realized I was never able to do what I wanted to do. So I decided to self publish my book to see what happens.

Blog Update: Eric Powell Interview Part 1.

I sat down with my cell phone on speaker and RCA handheld recorder and made a call to Tennessee to speak with the demented pencil pusher himself, Eric Powell, the creator of “The Goon”. I walked away with a $30 long distance bill and a crap load of tape to transcribe. I bring you the first installment of what I like to call The Eric Powell Interview. The Goon - 10 Years Of Zombie Punching.

Thanks for making our Halloween a blast! We appreciate everyone coming out to celebrate it with us. Again, we'd like to thank InkBomb Tattoos and HorrorHound Magazine for donating giveaways for the show.

Also, we made a mistake and forgot to update the website about the Indie Music Phoenix premiere.  For those who tuned in on Halloween, we apologize, because the show was switched to Thursday night, Nov. 6th at midnight on AZTV Cable 13/DTV 7.  They had to move from FOX due to censorship issues!

Keep any eye out for reruns every Thursday night on AZTV if you missed it.  Also, Indie Music Phoenix was at the Halloween show and did a quick interview with Bobby and Jimmy, stay tuned to future shows for that!

10/01/08

For those in Phoenix tune into Fox10 on Halloween night for the premier of "Indie Music Phoenix". Our video "Voices Of The Dead" will be kicking off the show as the "Artist Of The Week"!

For the whole month of October, any order over $20 will receive a free, signed "LoveCraft Poster!" This is only while supplies last, so order now! Once these posters are gone, they'll be out of print forever!

HALLOWEEN SHOW 2008!

Come join us this Halloween night at the Phix in Phoenix, Arizona!

We've created a line up to please even the most jaded fan! Featuring direct from Canada, for the first time in Arizona..."Nim Vind" and "The Vincent Black Shadow"! Also destroying the stage, "Ends !n Tragedy" from New Mexico (featuring ex-members of 12 Step Rebels and Viva Hate!).

Come early to check out all the killer bands this Halloween! And don't forget, as always, there will be door prizes, a costume contest and virgin sacrifices!

You know that old motto, "a watched kettle never boils?" Or, "you can't take a crap when someone is waiting outside the stall?" That's the case with ghost hunting. Hunting for ghosts is like searching for "love." When you're desperately looking, ghosts and love will always evade you. Ghostly love is even harder to find! I've told this story before in an interview but since it's October I thought I'd share it again. Here's my ghost story! READ MORE!

Well, it's that time again to visit the "fly over states" in the midwest! I remember reading some interview of a young Danzig saying how he loved playing the midwest because how the shows were so brutal. Things haven't changed much since the 80's!

Also, please help us promote these shows as much as possible, online and offline!

Here's a new item to add to your ever growing Calabrese wardrobe! I think we've got more stuff with our name on it than Nike, and we don’t even own a sweatshop! YOU may call it a bandana, but we call it the Calabrese Blood Rag!

Help us book some Midwest Shows!

As you may or may not know, we are 100% DIY. We don't have a booking agent, a manager or even a funeral director! We're headed out to the Midwest, so we're looking to YOU to help us book some shows! Take a look at the schedule below, and if you think you can help with any of the cities or cities around these general areas, hit up Bobby. Send us links to local bands, venues, promoters, any thing you think that would help.

Contact Bobby at http:www.myspace.com/bobbyvampcalabrese
or email Spookshow(at)CalabreseRock.com.

Jamie from Colorado sent us this email...

"Heya Calabrese, I have a totally weird story to tell you ! I was listening to your CD (TTVS) late last nite and I had the strangest urge to put my hand on the speaker of my stereo?! As soon as I put my hand on the speaker, the candles in my room blew out! I didn't think much of it until I tried it again, after I re-lit the candles. Third times a charm right ;) so I did again to prove to myself that I was not going crazy.... But this time when the candles blew out I just sat in the dark and left my hand on the speaker. I forget which song was playing but it was one of your really creepy ones. I felt the vibrations traveling through my hand all the way up my arm. As the music changed so did the vibrations. My heart started beating faster in response to the music and I saw a blue light form in the middle of my pitch black room. I can't really describe what I saw next but I swear it was a person within that blue light trying to get my attention. Before I had the chance to communicate with the entity my door swung open. It was my Mom half asleep and upset. She said I was screaming and she thought someone was attacking me! I'm curious to hear if anyone else has had this kind of experience and if you planned something like this to happen? I know you guys joke around about this kinda thing but come on, what gives?"

Well, Jamie, first we would like to suggest that you stay on your medications, you might even want to up the dosage! Secondly, we'd like to remind you, and everyone else who listens to our music, that our lawyers have assured us that any supernatural or paranormal activity that may occur while listening to Calabrese music is in no way affiliated with Calabrese or Spookshow Records. Further more, Calabrese and Spookshow Records are not liable for any physical damage or mental health issues that occur during or after listening to said music. Thanks for the email, keep 'em coming!
